There are several ways to use our circular loom frame. On this page we will cover two of the ways it can be used.

Firstly as a weaving loom and secondly as a knitting loom.

As a Weaving Loom

Tie a loop in the end of your yarn.

Place the loop over one of the teeth on the loom frame.

Count anticlockwise three teeth from this tooth and wind the yarn around this tooth.

Count clockwise three teeth from the tooth with the loop. Wind the yarn across the frame to this tooth.

Continue winding the yarn back and forth between the teeth until you have five teeth left at the bottom of the frame.

Thread the needle onto your yarn and thread it up the frame, going under then over alternate threads that you have wound around the frame.

If you wish, you can change the colour of the yarn you are using at any point to make a pattern.

In this example we have changed the colour multiple times to make a rainbow.

When you have made your pattern, use the needle to stitch your thread through the loops over the frames teeth, pulling each thread off the tooth as you go.

Tie the thread onto the final loop to complete your design.

You can thread the loom in different ways to make different patterns.

Here are examples of a fan design and a radial circle design achieved by threading the loom in different ways.

As a Knitting Loom

This loom frame can also be used with the pick provided to knit tubes.

Start by wrapping your yarn around each tooth.

When you have wrapped the yarn around each thread, start wrapping the yarn around each tooth above the loop you have already made.

After wrapping the yarn around the tooth, use the pick to pull the lower thread over the new loop you have made.

Continue this process on each tooth. As you practice, you will get quicker at it.

When you have made a tube of the desired length, stitch the thread through each of the loops on the tooth , remove from the tooth and tie onto the final loop.
